Your Wedding Day Schedule -Resources to Get You Started!

We are completely sympathetic to the daunting task of building a wedding day schedule! There are an over-abundance of checklists, articles, calendars, and apps to help you know what and when leading up to the big day, but very little information to help schedule your day once it arrives.  We appreciate the extreme attention to detail and mad coordination skills of wedding planners.   If you have not already done so, we encourage you to consider a wedding planner to free you up from the details to better enjoy your day!Photo of Wedding Day Schedule Earring Love

For our brides tackling the majority of the planning themselves, here are a few resources to help get started on your wedding day schedule (click the names for the links):

Southern Weddings has a terrific article on building a timeline! This is a great place to start whether you are just beginning to build your wedding day schedule, or simply need to be sure you have thought of everything.  There is a lot of information covered and is absolutely worth the read!Photo of Wedding Day Schedule Table Number

Wedding Chicks offer a couple free wedding day schedule downloads. These are pdf documents (not customizable) but they are wonderful to use as inspiration as you build your own in Word or Excel.  One of the nice features of these downloads is they also include some of the common photography shots you will want to be sure to schedule time for.  (Don’t worry, we will work together on YOUR personalized photography plan for the day.  It is just helpful to keep photography in mind as you begin to pull your wedding day schedule together.  Check out our blog on the general flow of photography here.)Photo of Wedding Day Schedule Table Setting

Oh my, how we love Etsy! What can’t you find on this glorious site?  Looking for a wedding day schedule that is so much cuter than an Excel spreadsheet to hand out to the bridal party, family, guests, and vendors?  This is the site to find it!  A quick search for “Wedding Day Timeline” will turn up crafters offering unique and, oh so cute, customizable templates at very reasonable prices.

A Practical Wedding offers several wedding checklists on their site, including a downloadable wedding day schedule Excel spreadsheet (you will need a Google drive account to access). This is a great option if you love Excel but don’t exactly want to start from scratch!  We love the use of spreadsheets as a way to pull together who, what, when, where of the day into one wedding day schedule using columns and sheets to keep the details organized by time!  Our geeky side appreciates a good spreadsheet for planning, but our stylish side says to put the finished product into a cute template from Etsy.  It is the best of both!Photo of Wedding Day Schedule Menu
